4. Student Conduct and School Rules

Students, parents, guardians, and guests are expected to conduct themselves respectfully and safely while participating in or observing classes and events.

Participants must:

• Follow instructor directions;
• Use martial arts techniques only in appropriate training settings;
• Respect instructors, students, staff, parents, guests, and property;
• Avoid bullying, harassment, threats, intimidation, or unsafe behavior;
• Wear required uniforms or equipment when applicable;

Inform instructors of injuries, limitations, or medical concerns that may affect participation.

Hubbard Martial Arts Academy may remove any participant or guest whose conduct creates a safety concern or disrupts the learning environment.

5. Safety and Assumption of Risk

Martial arts training involves physical activity and inherent risks. These risks may include, but are not limited to, strains, sprains, bruises, falls, collisions, muscle soreness, physical contact, accidental injury, and other risks associated with exercise and martial arts instruction.

By participating in classes, events, testing, seminars, demonstrations, or other activities, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Participation is voluntary;
• You understand martial arts training involves physical risk;
• You assume the risks associated with participation;
• You are responsible for following instructor guidance and safety rules;
• You will notify instructors of injuries, health conditions, limitations, or concerns before participating;

You should consult a physician before beginning any physical training program if you have health concerns.

Hubbard Martial Arts Academy is not responsible for injuries caused by failure to follow instructions, unauthorized practice, misuse of techniques, unsafe conduct, or participation against medical advice.

6. Minors

For students under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete all required registration forms, provide accurate information, and consent to the minor’s participation.

Parents and guardians are responsible for:

• Ensuring the student follows school rules;
• Providing accurate emergency contact information;
• Informing staff of relevant medical conditions, allergies, injuries, or limitations;
• Supervising children before and after class times;
• Picking up students promptly after class or events.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate parent or guardian consent.

7. Payments, Tuition, and Billing

Tuition, memberships, testing fees, event fees, merchandise purchases, and other charges are due according to the pricing, billing schedule, or agreement provided at enrollment or purchase.

You agree to provide accurate billing and contact information. If you authorize recurring payments, you authorize Hubbard Martial Arts Academy or its payment processor to charge your selected payment method according to the agreed billing terms.

Payment terms may include, where applicable:

• Monthly tuition or membership fees;
• One-time registration fees;
• Testing or belt promotion fees;
• Event, seminar, camp, or tournament fees;
• Merchandise or equipment purchases;
• Late fees, failed payment fees, or other charges disclosed to you.

Failure to make timely payments may result in suspension or termination of services.

8. Refunds, Cancellations, and Membership Changes

Refunds, cancellations, freezes, transfers, or credits are handled according to Hubbard Martial Arts Academy’s published policies or the specific membership agreement signed by the student, parent, or guardian.

Unless otherwise stated in writing:

• Tuition and membership fees are generally non-refundable;
• Missed classes do not automatically qualify for refunds or credits;
• Testing, event, seminar, camp, and merchandise fees may be non-refundable;
• Membership cancellation requests must follow the academy’s cancellation procedures;
• Any required notice period must be followed before billing stops.

Hubbard Martial Arts Academy may cancel or reschedule classes, events, or programs due to weather, holidays, instructor availability, safety concerns, emergency conditions, low enrollment, facility issues, or other circumstances.

9. Events, Belt Testing, and Special Programs

Participation in belt testing, tournaments, seminars, camps, demonstrations, or special programs may require separate registration, eligibility, fees, uniforms, equipment, or instructor approval.

Testing eligibility may depend on attendance, curriculum progress, attitude, conduct, skill development, instructor recommendation, and other academy requirements.

Hubbard Martial Arts Academy reserves the right to modify testing dates, event schedules, requirements, fees, or eligibility standards.

10. Communications by Email, Phone, and Text Message

By providing your contact information, including your phone number and email address, you agree that Hubbard Martial Arts Academy may contact you regarding classes, schedules, billing, events, closures, promotions, school announcements, membership information, and other service-related matters.

Communications may be sent by:

• School newsletters or announcements.

Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of promotional text messages by replying STOP where available, and you may opt out of promotional emails by using the unsubscribe instructions included in the email.
